● International undergraduate or graduate students can participate in a semester or year program to experience campus life at Berkeley;
● Provide one-on-one career development guidance and career-related courses to support students' career goals and career development;
● Sharing resources and learning side by side with UC Berkeley students;
● Integrate into the multicultural, immersive experience of American campus life;
● Support the mutual recognition of credits, and the credits obtained can be brought back to the Alma mater;
● Studied with renowned professors at the University of California, Berkeley;
● A chance to get a letter of recommendation from a professor at UC Berkeley.
Undergraduate Research Internship Program (URAP)
What is URAP?
This is an internship program. Students will have the opportunity to choose their favorite project from 9-10 different categories and participate in innovative, cutting-edge research alongside Berkeley faculty and researchers. More than 340 faculty/tutors are involved in these exciting and unique research projects covering diverse fields such as business/economics, anthropology, art history, education and more.
The purpose of URAP
Foster faculty and student research collaborations that energize undergraduate education and contribute to the intellectual community on the Berkeley campus.
Credit calculation
3 hours of research work per week is worth 1 credit, up to a maximum of 4 credits per semester. Note: Research work is not paid.
URAP application
Students in the BGA program are now eligible to apply for this very rare opportunity. Admission is not guaranteed, but eligible students can apply for up to 3 programs.
Application requirements
Previous course results (maximum 10 courses available); Provide a statement of intent for each project.
